The riverside locale and its border with the Greenwich backcountry give the grounds of The Mill a sense of community, of seclusion, and of exclusivity. Sculpted paths wind through lush green landscapes meticulously designed by Jay Fain & Associates, guiding you beyond your apartment to shops, restaurants, and a community all your own.
The 1881 Building, located at 340 Pemberwick Road, at The Mill recalls an age of craftsmanship and design when building something meant building it to last. A marvel of its time, 1881’s Landmark facade endures as both a testament to heritage and a locus of stately modern luxury. There are 26 apartments – ranging from one to two-bedroom residences – to be found in this masterful mix of the Romanesque Revival and Queen Anne styles.
With a design inspired by the history of its setting, the building known as 1981, located at 10 Glenville Street, was built with an eye toward the future. Its 33 luxuriously outfitted one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom residences display The Mill’s deft mingling of heritage and modernity. 1981 also features Kramer Portraits and Greenwich Sports Medicine.

Developers Steve Schacter and Eric Schwartz began work on The Mill nearly 40 years after partners Ralph Schacter and Sy Schwartz of Fairfield Associates purchased 30 acres in the Glenville section of Greenwich along with the old mill that sat upon them. Ralph and Sy refurbished and repurposed the buildings that comprised the mill, then built new ones. Four decades later, the second-generation developers, now known as The Mill Owners Company, transformed the site of the old mill once again.
